Happy Tails Terms and Conditions 2024
- My dog will attend a trial day to assess my dog's suitability for Happy Tails and its Daycare and Boarding service.
- My dog will attend a minimum one day of daycare per week. This ensures he/she knows the routines of travelling with Happy Tails and of the daycare environment.
- Happy Tails has the right to refuse a dog at any time with no warning for any of its services.
- I understand that Happy Tails operates in a ‘pack’ environment and therefore accept all of the benefits and risks associated with this, and agree that Happy Tails is not responsible for any injury or illness, or the loss or damage of any belongings, food or medication left in our care during my dog’s attendance.
- I understand that I am liable for any damages, veterinary or medical care expenses for my dog that result from injuries caused by, or to, my dog. This may be a rest of general dog socialisation/play (anywhere in our facility) or as a result of an altercation.
- I agree to inform Happy Tails of any of my dog’s behaviours initially and as they develop that may impact Happy Tails decision on which area to keep my dog, where they may be exercised or whether they should be granted entry at all. This includes but is not limited to behaviours such as jumping, escaping, bolting, aggressive behaviours towards people, dogs or other animals or a menacing classification being placed on my dog.
- Not disclosing these changes may result in Happy Tails refusing entry for my dog
- I understand that Happy Tails exercises dogs in the farm area which consists of 1.8 metre mesh fencing. I agree with my dog being exercised in this area. I accept all risks associated with this.
- I agree to not hold Happy Tails, its employees and representatives, liable for any injury/loss/death/sickness of my dog.
- I understand & agree that under no circumstances will Happy Tails be liable for subsequent damage or damages which are beyond the replacement value of my dog.
- I understand that Happy Tails reserves the right to seek full vet disclosure/history for any such issues arising where I question care given under any circumstances. I understand that full vet disclosure/all history from my dogs respective vet clinic is part of due process in any situation where warranted.
- I give permission for Happy Tails to seek veterinary attention for my dog if any medical issues develop while my dog is in its care and I agree to pay all costs associated with treatment. Happy Tails Daycare reserves the right to seek vet attention for my dog as it sees fit on my behalf as my dogs primary caregiver while in Happy Tails Daycare’s care, in the best interest of my dog’s welfare, comfort & well being.
- Happy Tails reserves the right to contact my immediate emergency contact if my dog displays extreme barking, or aggression, Happy Tails does not accommodate extreme barking and at any time 24/7 I agree that Happy Tails may contact me or my emergency contact to pick up my dog.
- I understand that Happy Tails operating hours are 7am – 6pm, and accept all costs associated with anything undue outside of these timings.
- Opening hours are from 7:00am to 6pm, 7 days a week. I agree that if I am unable to collect my dog by 6pm, for daycare or boarding, that my dog will be boarded overnight at my expense or charged a late fee. This decision is at the discretion of Happy Tails alone.
- All dogs boarding overnight are to be collected the following day by 10:00am, at no extra charge, however, if my dog is collected after 10:00am a full day care charge will apply.
- All fees must be paid by the due date on the invoice issued.
- Payments not made within 3 days will incur an ongoing late payment fee until paid in full.
- 3rd party collection costs are that of the non payment/payer.
- Happy Tails uses the services of collections (Baycorp) at any given time as appropriate.
- Seeking & having services given by Happy Tails in written form or verbal, is considered to be both legally bound as ‘service provided’, at no time does a written or verbal agreement deter from Happy Tails terms and conditions as written here.
- A dog placed into Happy Tails care (daycare and/or boarding,) is considered ‘service provided’ through written or verbal agreement.
- I understand I need to provide a two week notice period to cancel the weekly service.
- I understand Happy Tails reserves the right to amend terms and conditions as it sees fit at any time.
- I understand that Happy Tails is bound to the Dog Control Act & the Animal Welfare Act, and any such actions, situations, incidents or events occurring with my dog may require Happy Tails attention to these Acts or anything associated and forthcoming.
- Happy Tails may update its Terms and Conditions as needed and required. Terms & conditions can be found on the website as the primary & paramount version only, superseding all paper or other digital versions.
Privacy Policy
We collect personal information from you, including information about your: name, contact information, billing or purchase information. We collect your personal information in order to ensure we can provide you the best experience possible and make contact with you where and when needed. We keep your information safe by using secure software to store the information and only allow certain staff members to see it.

Refund Policy
We strive to provide the experience possible for both you and your dog. If you feel we haven’t lived up to your expectations and would like a refund, please email admin@happytailsdaycare.co.nz with details and we will contact you to discuss, review and consider.
